The Reality We Must Change
Across Sweden, LGBTQI youth still face discrimination, isolation, and barriers that no young person should endure. Many grow up in homes where they cannot be themselves, in schools where bullying is common, and in healthcare systems that delay or deny their needs. The cost is devastating: poorer mental health, limited opportunities, and futures that feel out of reach. This is the reality, but it is not the future we accept.
Our Approach
We know that change requires more than awareness, it takes safe spaces, youth leadership, and meaningful action. RFSL Ungdom works on all three. We protect by creating communities where youth feel safe and supported. We empower by giving young people the tools, skills, and confidence to lead. And we transform by taking their voices into schools, healthcare, and policy, where decisions shape their daily lives.
